The Best Summer Vacation Packing Checklist

The whole family gathered around the table, talked for hours, dreamed for days and finally the big decision was taken. This summer, you are traveling to Greece. Lovely. You pick Kriopigi village as your destination since you always wanted to spend your summer vacation in Halkidiki.

Then, you book a room at Hotel Kriopigi to spend your holidays in a beautiful resort. So far so good. Now, all there’s left to do is pack. You think it’s easy, but this is not always the case especially if you have kids or traveling to Greece for the first time.

There are things to get and there are things to leave out. This is a helpful summer vacation packing checklist so that you’ll take what’s needed apart from bathing suits.

Summer holiday packing must-take checklist

  • Clothing for the whole family – keep it light, it’s hot in Greece in the summer.
  • Bathing suits (obviously).
  • Sunglasses, hats, sunscreens – you get it, anything to protect you from the sun and the UV rays.
  • Get an extra pair for each family member, just in case. Don’t forget flip-flops for the beach.
  • Medication, painkillers, etc. – prepare a first aid kit. It might come handy.
  • Documents & money – whether you are flying in or drive to Halkidiki, you need to have your personal documents with you and cash.
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste and basic hygiene stuff.
  • Smartphones, laptop or adapters – any high-tech device you might find necessary during the journey.

Things to double-check

You’ll survive without a beach towel, but it might be difficult without the prescribed medicine or sunglasses. So, prioritize your needs. Take the essentials and leave behind things that will be a burden.

You don’t need too many clothes for your Greek summer vacation, but a light jacket might come handy, especially if you travel early June or late August. Pack the things you really need, double-check before you close the luggage, and leave some room for new stuff you might want to buy.

Who doesn’t like to bring back a few souvenirs from their holidays?
